Melissa M. Crawford | Paralegal

I am a dedicated real estate paralegal with many years of experience supporting attorneys in residential and commercial transactions.  A graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, I have built my career working closely with real estate professionals, mortgage brokers, and legal teams, gaining a strong, practical understanding of the process from contract to closing.

I take pride in being detail-oriented, organized, and approachable, helping to keep transactions on track while making the experience as smooth as possible for both attorneys and clients.  My work includes preparing deeds and settlement statements, assisting with purchase and sale agreements, and coordinating with all parties involved to ensure clear communication and timely closing.

Having grown up in New England, I value strong relationships, reliability, and personal touch in everything I do.  I enjoy being part of a team that helps clients navigate important milestones with confidence and care.

What Clients Say:

I’ve worked with Michael Robbins at Crowley Cummings in Massachusetts for decades and can’t recommend him enough. He has helped me through multiple real estate purchases and even gotten me out of a few difficult situations over the years. Michael is knowledgeable, professional, and always looks out for his clients’ best interests. I’ve recommended him to many friends and family members, and they’ve all had great experiences as well. If you need a reliable real estate attorney, he’s an excellent choice.

You get what you pay for

Some people call and their first question is, “What are your fees?” If your only goal is to find the lowest-price attorney, I’m probably not the right fit.

Some lenders also steer you toward the lowest-fee attorney on their list. Those lawyers are often set up to treat your purchase as just another quick transaction, not a major moment in your life. Their goal is volume, not careful, individualized attention.

I take a different approach. Your home purchase is one of the largest investments you will ever make. You don’t need the most expensive lawyer in town, but you also don’t want the legal equivalent of fast food. “Simple” or “easy” closings are not always simple or easy—real estate is emotional, detailed, and very expensive, and small oversights can have big consequences.

Think of it this way: you could go to McDonald’s, Legal Sea Foods, or Capital Grille. McDonald’s is fine when you just need something quick. Capital Grille is a luxury. My practice is the “Goldilocks” option: not the cheapest, not the flashiest, but just right in terms of service, attention, and value.

When you hire me, you are not paying for the bare minimum necessary to get to the closing table. You are paying for an experienced real estate attorney who actually reviews your documents, explains your risks and options, and steps in when something isn’t right. With legal services, you really do get what you pay for: a rock-bottom fee usually buys rock-bottom involvement. My clients hire me because they want a lawyer who knows their file, answers their questions, and treats their purchase as more than a one-off transaction-and more than 250 five-star Google reviews reflect that level of service.
